O deputado Juan Merlo agradeceu o apoio de todos os grupos que cumprirá cunha reivindicación da Confraría de hai xa tres anos 

O Parlamento de Galicia aprobou por unanimidade á iniciativa presentada por En Marea para instar á Xunta de Galicia a levar a cabo todas as accións precisas para ampliar a lonxa do Grove, de forma que se satisfagan as necesidades mostradas pola Confraría. O deputado no Parlamento, Juan Merlo, destacou na súa intervención a importancia do sector da pesca e do marisqueo sobre todo nunha vila como O Grove que conta cunha Confraría con 550 socios e rexistradas más de 300 embarcacións, das que practicamente a metade dedícanse á extracción do mexillón. Estamos polo tanto ante un sector do que dependen de forma directa e indirecta milleiros de familias.

Desde hai máis de 3 anos, os membros da Confraría veñen reclamando unha ampliación da lonxa, xa que segundo se recolle a través das súas demandas, a actual infraestrutura quedouse pequena, rexistrándose problemas nas zonas das cámaras e das poxas. A Lonxa do Grove actualmente ocupa a sexta posición entre as lonxas galegas con máis facturación, xa que no ano 2016 chegou aos 8.878.510€ e unha cantidade de 876.221kg, atopámonos, polo tanto, ante unha infraestrutura que xera un importante volume de negocio, polo que lle corresponde á Xunta de Galicia velar porque esta se atope nas mellores condicións posibles.

Por todo isto, En Marea presentou unha proposición non de Lei no que se insta á Xunta de Galicia a levar a cabo todas as accións precisas para ampliar a lonxa de O Grove, de forma que se satisfagan as necesidades mostradas pola Confraría.
